On January 31, 2025 at 7:30 p.m., the popular concert series “New Moon. New Faces” once again invites you to a remarkable musical evening at the Hotel Klosterhof in Bayerisch Gmain. This benefit concert showcases two rising stars whose virtuosity and depth of musical expression are sure to captivate audiences: violinist Laura Katherina Handler and pianist Anastasiia Kliuchereva.

Outstanding Young Talents on One Stage
Violinist Laura Katherina Handler, born in Munich in 1998, began studying violin and voice at the age of six. Since then, she has enjoyed an impressive career, studying at prestigious institutions such as the Zakhar Bron Academy in Interlaken, the Leopold Mozart Institute, the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, and, most recently, the Berlin University of the Arts. She has earned numerous honors, including the “Paul Roczek Award” (2022) and a special prize at the 20th International Khachaturian Competition (2024). Laura has performed in renowned venues such as the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Berliner Philharmonie, and the Vienna Musikverein. Supported by scholarships from the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, the Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz Foundation, and the Sinfonima Foundation, she performs on a precious Giuseppe Odoardi violin from 1780. She has already garnered numerous international awards, including prizes at the Vienna International Competition (2024) and the International “Classic Piano” Competition in Dubai (2024). Anastasiia has performed with distinguished orchestras, captivating audiences with her technical precision, impressive maturity, and profound musical sensitivity.

A Versatile Program of Masterworks
The evening’s program includes outstanding works from the Classical and Romantic eras, as well as dynamic pieces from other musical periods:

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Variations on a Minuet by Duport, K.573
  • Frédéric Chopin: Sonata No. 2 in B-flat Minor, Op.35 (1st movement)
  • Aram Khachaturian: Violin Concerto in D Minor (excerpts)
  • Jules Massenet: “Méditation” from the opera “Thaïs”

This selection promises a vibrant interplay of diverse styles, emotions, and techniques. Delicate Mozartian elegance meets Chopin’s romantic intensity, Khachaturian’s expressive richness, and Massenet’s gentle lyricism.
